Sweetango apples (a hybrid of Honeycrisps and Zestars) are in season! My boss told me of some easy things to make using canned biscuit dough, so I tried out Paula Deen’s recipe.
Goddamn, these are good… and easy. They’re like fried apple doughnuts.
I MADE THESE TONIGHT!! I only used 3 apples, but kept the rest of the portions the same and it was enough for 4 big empanadas. As for the dough, it’s just Grands Honey Butter flakey biscuits, you just roll ‘em out flat and fold them with the apples inside. You guys, they are f'ing delicious, I cant recommend them enough.
