Sunday was the annual usher party, which is one of my favorite times of the year, not just because of the free sandwiches and cake, but because I can wander around the house with my camera unrestricted.

But hands down the best moment of the day was when Audrey, a former co-worker,  came by and gave me a big hug all teary eyed. When I first met her, I was just an insanely shy stupid 18 year old at my first job and she was assigned to train me on day one.

She retired a couple years ago due to health reasons and I hadn’t seen her since. And the sad truth about working amongst retirees is that when someone disappears from the staff, it’s usually due to them passing away. So when I saw her, I admit I teared up a bit too. All raffle prize winnings aside (I won clip clopping coconuts from Spamalot), seeing her again was the best part of the day.
